Hi, I'm MISTY !
My aunt Misty has down syndrome, she is loved by all and truly has a pure heart as do all individuals with Down Syndrome. Many people look at them and feel pity, I do not because I would like to be one of gods angels walking around on Earth like they are. Even though there is so much more education and opportunities for the down syndrome population, its not enough. We shouldn't quit until the uneducated stop looking at the downs children young and old alike like they are different and realize that the word retarded should not be used so loosely. Thats why I walk every year along side my aunt...

The Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society is a 501c3 nonprofit parent-based support organization whose mission is to improve and enrich the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families through support, education & awareness. The Step Up Walk is a vehicle in which we can promote the possibilities that exist in each person with Down syndrome.
